There's been a lot of discussion on this at tivocommunity.com, and so far no real word on when it will be, just that "they're working on it." It is a pain, for sure!

They haven't even updated TiVo Desktop for Tiger yet

I read somewhere that there are major problems that will cost too much to overcome and research on it has been halted indefinitely. I can't seem to find the link though.

There are supposedly hacks to allow you to download the show to your Mac. You then use another hack to remove the encryption/password on the show. I've never tried though.

Yeah, "updated" was a poor choice of words. They haven't even released TiVo Desktop for Tiger.

Now, I don't know if it's a Tiger thing or a TiVo thing, but I'll blame it on them anyway ;)

I heard the same thing that grapes911 heard, that despite them saying "we're working on it", they really don't have any plans on making it work. Too expensive for too little return (and they're kinda hurting financially right now).

Too bad that rumor about Apple buying them out wasnt true, they could just integrate the features in to QT.

As for burning i dont see the issue since Sonic is what i have to use on PC and Sonic now owns Roxio.. *cough* toast *cough* popcorn...

But that's ok, I still love my TiVo for the things it DOES do. I even converted the wife (no small feat)!!

haha that brings back memories.. i remember when i first got the TiVo box and my wife was all "thats nice", years later i get home to "i needed more room and i deleted a few of your shows" TiVo is amazing, and in my opinion the copycats just dont have the same luster as you will that TiVo has!

As for the blog that makes me sad, although i hope that its not completely true and we will see a TiVoToGo feature on OS X someday.. its kinda like Yahoo neglecting to upgrade thier messenger for OS X and atleast give us VOICE....

The thing that kills me is that, at least from reading stuff on tivocommunity, there are a fairly large percentage of Mac users on TiVo. Not to get into the user share debates, but I'd have to think that the percentage of TiVo homes that are also Mac homes is pretty high, and so making an OS X version wouldn't be a lost cause.

But I suppose they really don't make money on TTG, so what can you do? I'd still buy TiVo (I have 2 now) knowing it didn't interface with the Mac (although I miss picture sharing with Tiger).
