I'm looking for an intermediate OS X Tiger book that goes beyond how to set up an email account and import into iphotos .... i want to learn not only how things work but why... i'm deciding between Mac OS X Unleashed and The Missing Manual. I've read all the user comments on Amazon and tho' i'm leaning towards Unleashed someone mentioned there that it seemed rushed and possibly printed before 10.4 even came out

Little help?
thanks.

I haven't seen Unleashed, but I have the Missing Manual book and wish I had something better. It gives you the basics, and some good tips, but doesn't go deep enough into anything because it tries to cover too much.

thanks for yr responses. Shortly after starting this thread i found this on thinksecret: http://www.thinksecret.com/reviews/tigerbooks.html

kinda pushed me towards 'Unleashed'. i want to know more about controling os x from a users point of view but wouldn't mind getting into the behind the scenes bits and bobs.

igary & lilstewart92, have you read Unleashed?

while i'm here... anyone bought this?
