On my macbook pro, I have a windows partition and os X partition. In addition, I have a external hard drive( which was stolen oujt of my windows machine) and is running via firewire. I have yet to format the drive, and all my old files are still on there from the windows machine( so its still in NTSF format).
To make things more complicated, this is what I want to do. I want to have a windows related partion on it to install games and software, and a os X related partiton for just back ups and movies and stuff. Both OS's are installed and working perfect on the internal. Can I do this?
right now I have two partitons in NTSF on it and windows and os x see it, but os x can not write or edit the files(windows can obviously). Does it have to be in FAT for os x to use it? Can I have a FAT partiton and NTSF partion on the same drive? thanks!!!!!!!
