Only delta update appears to be available at this time...full download through App Store is still stuck on PB3 for me.
I thought even the devs were required to get everything through the App Store?
Do you mean direct link to download the update or direct link to download the full installers?
Developers have their own forum (
http://devforums.apple.com ) and direct links for beta updates have been available there for a long time. So although the updates are usually available in the mac app store, a developer may prefer a direct download because:
- sometimes the mac app store doesn't work properly
- or they may have several machines to update and don't want to download every time for each machine
- or just make a backup of the installer in case there is a need to reinstall.
Only updates have direct links because they are not tied to an apple id. The full installers don't have direct links because they are tied to an apple id.
Feedback Assistant is also in the developer previews, but in a different place. It is a bit harder to find. But it is pretty useless to developers anyway because if they try to log in with a developer id, it won't let them in.
I've signed up as a developer and public beta tester with 2 different ids. So I can still use the feedback assistant if I want to (provided I log in with the correct id). But to honest, I like the bug reporter website (
http://bugreport.apple.com ) better than the feedback assistant. So even if developers could use the feedback assistant, I think most of them would prefer the bug reporter website anyway.
There is not yet a full installer for PB4 which is why PB3 still appears in the purchases tab in your mac app store.
EDIT: PB3 has now been updated to PB4 in the purchases tab in the mac app store.
