I put iPhone OS4 on my 3G yesterday. No big deal, everything looks OK. But overall it really doesn't seem like it adds a whole lot. I don't get the multitasking, so that's out. I get the folders, that works good. Ok, I can adjust the background of the screens. Everything else seems meh. Nothing I can really say is worth the 4.0 tag. :( Oh, yeah, the popup events are good, the way that they should have been.

You should tell us about your dinner plan and past accomplishment as well.

Actually I found his valuable, I also have a 3G and wanted to see if I was missing anything. The only thing I think I might want is the game center and that only if you can play games with other people. Considering this is definitely the last OS upgrade we will get it will probably last me a good while.

Let's see what he has posted...

Very valuable information...

And you're posts are great help as well.

I've been playing around with 4.0 for a while and it does seem a lot like 3.0 with a few things cleaned up. If people are going to be putting 4.0 on their 3G phones and are expecting big changes, they are going to be disappointed.

Yes, they will notice some of the changes. They will see the folders, they will see the new "dock". But what is the average person going to see? Not a whole lot. Oh yeah, email, looks good, feels a bit better with having a unified inbox; but there should be more.

The OS needs a face lift, something that makes it FEEL new, FEELS updated, it really DOES NOT feel like this right now. I can't talk about 3GS phones, because I don't have one (my wife does but she doesn't want 4.0 yet).

I haven't had too many events pop up yet, a few, but not many. They are not as intrusive as they were, but are still about the same. I really wanted to see the lock screen updated, and I still hold hope that they do. But as it is right now, it is kinda lame.

I don't even care about the multitasking because I have a jailbroken 3g. Maybe the apps will have something new.

Do you get UNIFIED MAIL BOX? sort by threads?
Do you get MULTIPLE EXCHANGE accounts?

Spot light search on WEB?

These are important to some BUSINESS people.

yeah, i'm curious too.. what did you mean by this:

Some of the pop ups I was getting with the previous os would popup and stay in front of what you are doing. Such as getting a text message while on the phone. It made it not want to hang up until you cleared the text. This happened to me with 4.0 and I was able to clear it without a problem.

Unified mailbox seems nice so far. I have not yet seen an easy visible marking to determine which account themail came from maybe if they added some color coding or marker in front of the message it would help. As it stands it is a little confusing if you get a Lot of emails from different accounts

The threading of messages is very nice; it helps with email clutter.

I have never used spotlight much so I cannot talk about it sbd it's usefulness.

I do like the implementation of folders and this alone may behold enough to upgrade to 4.0 for 3G people.

I have the game center app but have not looked at it at all. Not a big gamer so I cannot say and will most likely not load it at all.
