Os9 freeze

Strange problem has come up. I have a G4 digital audio with 1ghz g4, radeon9000 pro. Runs osx 10.4 fine. Will run os9.1 fine… but when i upgrade to 9.2.2… it boots fine, gets to the desktop, i can move the curser around but can not click on anything??? Like its frozen but i can move the mouse. Any ideas?

Welcome to extensions hell. You'll have to disable extensions one-by-one until you find the culprit.

I believe so. Is it a clean install, then an upgrade? If so, I would just use the OS9lives ISO that's already 9.2.2 and has the latest Mac OS Rom, too. Never had any problems with that one.

But as said above, if it isn't a clean install and you have some extension that's causing it you'll have to figure that out 🤷‍♂️

It's here, the first download. I believe this is also the same one.
Personally, I use the "Unsupported G4s" one on every Mac, because it's got a newer ROM. It says it includes things that might not work on older Macs, but so far it's worked on all of them I've tried it on.
