This is kind of a long story, but I'll keep it as brief as possible. I have a Netgear MA101 USB 802.11b wireless unit, which has no Mac drivers. The Belkin unit, the F5D6050, which utilises the same chipset, is electronically identical except for its USB tags: product ID and vendor ID. A clever chap worked out how to modify the Belkin OS X drivers to work with the Netgear device here, and it works great. I am trying to do the same for the OS9 version of the drivers for my old 8600, and was hoping it would be just as simple. I installed the drivers (two extensions and a control panel) and used Resedit to search for the hex strings of the IDs, but no luck. I assume that all that needs to be done is the same as in X - change the product ID and vendor ID to match the Netgear device, but don't know how to find/translate them. The IDs for the Belkin are VID: 3420 PID: 40962 and for the Netgear are VID: 16642 PID: 2148. Any suggestions/help would be appreciated.
