OSX disk utility freeware???

I can't seem to locate freeware that would allow me to run a complete hard drive surface test. OSX's built-in DISK UTILITY does not provide such a feature... does anyone know where I can find what i'm looking for? thanks!

your probably not going to find anything free thats good. here are your choices.

nortons 7
tech tool 4
drive 10 (free upgrade to techtool 4)
disk warrior 3 (should be released soon.), my favorite
