Hey All

I was just wondering if anyone knows of a way to have a text path in the top of an OSX Finder window. I find myself navigating that way in Windows quite a bit, and its faster for me for some reason. Besides, sometimes I like to see "where I am" when Im 10 folders deep and get confused.....and I dont like the side scrolling feature too well. Its easier to just read a path...and it would be great if I could eidt the path to change locations....get my drift?

Thanks

Try Command+Clicking the icon/title on the top of the Finder window. Also, if you have Panther, you can customize the Finder window and actually add a "Command Path" button that shows you and allows you to automatically go to any point along your Finder navigation.

That's available in 10.2.8 as well, as I'm using it currently. its still not the same as having the constant text path up there like it is in windows. Thats the one thing I really like about it...

Any other suggestions?

You could use the column view, and that would give you enough of a reminder of where you are probably 95% of the time, for that other 5% Command click the name in the Finder window, and it'll show you the path and let you jump to anywhere else in the path.

While I don't have anything worthwhile to add, I just wanted to say -

Thanks! I've had a lot of comments on it. I just changed it from my spinning powerbook that Id had for like, years. The little turtle dude is a character Im working on for my animation reel/portfolio.
