I am amazed....

I purchased my mac 12 months ago and 2 weeks after that I spilt a pint of guinness on it (I know it's such a waste of a pint but ... it still worked afterwards:) This weekend my girlfiend and I had an argument and she threw my PB acoss the room claiming I love it more than her (I hate to admit she's probably right). When it finally hit the floor it had lost 4 keys and was baddly brused however IT STILL WORKS!!!!! I can't believe it. If I breath on my work PC it breaks but this mac just keeps on going. Maybe the next release of macs or OSX should be based on a cockroach;)

I hope she's now an ex-girlfriend. She sounds a tad unstable! If she gets that upset about a computer, I hate to think what would happen if something more serious came up in your relationship.

WHAT? I'd seriously run away and never talk to her again. She sounds dangerous!

"When it finally hit the floor" - Did it bounce!? :( OUCH.

If Macs only have 9 lives then how do explain the fact that we're running OS X right now? :D

Yeah, the only problem with Macs lasting so damn long is that it makes justifying buying a new one that much harder when you don't really "need" a new one. ;)

First, if you have to wait until March 20th to get a blowjob from your girlfriend, that is reason enough to get rid of her.

Second, if she is that violent with your Powerbook, are you sure you want to trust your guy to her teeth?

I figured out how to kill a Mac...
Buy a new one!
Seriously, my eMac has been great- never any problems whatsoever. As soon as I bought my MBP (well, within a few days) it has had two kernel panics, refuses to mount and firewire devices, refuses to mount CD's, etc. Its like I offended it. :D

It just knows that you're pushing it away. It's like a girlfriend that thinks you're going to break up with her, so she breaks up with you first to save her dignity. I'm only shocked because macs are normally more faithful than women. Hope my gf doesn't read this :D

She actually threw your PowerBook...? Wow. If a girlfriend ever did that to me, I would seriously freak out and never speak to them again. That's just uncalled for. I hope you asked her to pay for the repair. :(

20th March 1995: Nerve gas attack on Tokyo subway (top search results from Google)

I don't wanna dash your hopes, but are you sure what she is actually referring to? :)

Yeah, that's my issue as well. I have a 17" 1.25 GHz G4 iMac, and it works flawlessly. With 1 GB of RAM in it, it is snappy and does everything I need it to. How can I possibly justify buying a new Mac? ;) :D

Actually, I do have my wish list for my next Mac. When the iMac meets all of these specs, then I will indeed probably upgrade:

dual core Conroe proc
20" display (min)
1 GB RAM (min)
500 GB HDD (min)
Blu Ray optical drive (burner)
802.11n built-in
iLife 07 pre-installed
OS X 10.5 Leopard pre-installed

Go to Google, type in 'March 20th' (with the 'th' on the end,) and hit "I'm Feeling Lucky". Then you'll understand.

if a girl ever threw one of my computers id make a trenchcoat out of her

My girlfriend knows her place. I have my Dual 2GHz G5 and 23inch screen. She's NOT allowed to touch either. Should she do so and cause damage - three words...

Small Claims Court

Same will be for my car when I get it. She'll only be allowed to sit in it IF she agrees its better than hers and that she wont touch anything. Yesterday she wiped her hands all over the windscreen - it'd been cleaned proffessionally by the Insurance company after a crash repair, and she put her dirty mits all over it. ggrrrrrrrr

Oh my God, that is priceless.

My wife works in a Hallmark store, I'm going to have to ask her if there is a card for March 20th too!
