Osx mail?

Im having trouble with osx mail.. i have aol.. and i have always set it up so osx mail is in charge of my mail.. all of a sudden.. the other day, it stopped working! I have no idea whats wrong and no matter what i do i cant get it to work.. Any suggestions?

What do you mean by "it stopped working"? What exactly can you do and not do?

it wont check my mail- I get an error message that says it cannot connect to the server.. I used to have good directions on how to setup my aol account on osx.. but i cant find it anymore.. Anyone have them?

Go into /Mail Preferences/Account Information/Server Settings/. Make sure [Authentication] is set to "Password". If your AOL mail server requires password authentication to import mail over to Mac Mail, you're going to need that setting.

This is my very first "recommendation" post on this forum, so I hope I'm right.
