Whenever I reboot os doesn't remember my settings. Not everything just random things...ie

itunes playlist
screen resolution for login screen and boot screen
mouse speeds

Any reason why this would be happen? I have a G4 Powermac.

Sounds like a permissions problem to me.

The only other time I encountered a similar problem, was when I had doenloaded an extremely large file, and had 0.00k frre space left on my Hard Drive, which meant that the settings couldn't be saved!!!

However, seeing as you say it's not universal, I suggest repairing permissions as soon as you can.

It might be a dead PRAM battery

1/2 AA 3.6V lithium cell, should be about $10

These last 3 - 6 years depending on the usage pattern of the machine. The longer it spends off/unplugged, the shorter the PRAM battery life.

Thanks
