Hello ive got an Asus Amd e12100 processor laptop 1ghz 4gb ram 1tb hdd i want to know if this could run any osx software just so i can test it before i spend £££ on a mac next week ? many thanks mike .

IIRC, no.. The big issue there is that the notebook that you have has an AMD processor in it. Most sites that I frequent (e.g., TonyMacX86) base everything off of Intel CPUs. This is because there is very little (if any at all) support for AMD CPUs in the kernel for OS X. If they had the support for it, then it would be possible.

As mentioned before, InsanelyMac and Tonymacx86 would be the sites to visit for more info.

Even if it did run, you are unlikely to get a sensible OS X experience out of the box on that machine, better to go and spend the $$$ and use the 14-day trial to see if it suits, and return the MBP if it doesn't. Then you will be able to properly assess OS X as it will run.
