So the first time I docked the iPhone, iTunes recognized it fine and I was able to activate and sync it.

However, the next time I docked it, Image Capture popped up (which is the program I have launch when camera are connected), and the iPhone doesn't show up in iTunes.

I have searched Apples support site and Macrumors, but havn't found a solution.

On my WinXP box, when I connect my iPhone now it shows up in iTunes AND the camera/fax wizard pops up asking me what program I want to run. Picasa2 recognizes the phone's pictures for importing just fine. Perhaps Image Capture has grabbed hold of the phone and won't let iTunes see it? Do you still have issues after you close down Image Capture?

Mine did the same thing after i had taken some photos with the camera, but closing the image capture, allowed it to pop up on itunes. It won't show up, however, until you quit image capture.

I had the exact same problem. Besides this for some reason i have wi-fi network problem. It connects ok with E and not with my wireless network. I even went to itunes and reset the phone to the original factor default sittings and now it is back the way it was. iPhoto opens instead of itunes and switches from wi-fi when use safari.

I had this same problem. Everytime I plugged the iPhone in it would open iPhoto, but I figured it up.

1. Open Image Capture App
2. Go to Preferences
3. Under the General tab change "When a camera is connected, open: " to "No Application"

This did the trick for me! Hope this helps.

Can we sticky this? mark it as solved or something? Im sure a ton of people have this similar problem/annoyance.
