OT: Ipad ad

hey, hopefully this doesnt get locked/deleted, i just need some input

ok so we have to present our market research on iPad and have decided to do a mac pc type of ad, but only for ipad vs android type tablet.

I have something done and was wondering if you guys have any input. It obv doesnt have to be fair and we are looking to make it funny, so any suggestions to make it funnier would be welcome. I was thinking about ending it with a system freeze or battery dead but dont know how to do that.

anyways this is what i have so far

Ipad: Hi im a iPad
Android: Hi im an archos 7
Ipad: what are you wearing, halloweens not till October (he's wearing a funny cardboard costume)
Android: haha very funny but its my new tablet supported by android
iPad: oh cool
android: yea it does everything!!
iPad: Thats awesome! Does it have multitouch?
Android: No
iPad: Does it have Bluetooth?
Android: No
iPad: Does it support 3G browsing?
Android: No
iPad: does it have a document editor?
Android: No
iPad: Does it have a app store?
Android: No, BUT it comes with cool apps installed
iPad: oh yea, thats cool, like?
Android: ohhhh like....calculator......and ummm......alarm clock
...silence

iPad: you’re right it does have everything

so any suggestions? What do you guys think? funny, lame, gay....And since its live we dont have much flexibility

but any improvement suggestions are welcomed and appreciated

I don't agree with the statements. Android has gotten multitouch on the droid and will have on the tablet as well, of course it is bound to have bluetooth, and it has a marketplace. Also, I feel a little sarcasm may be beneficial here - don't put too much though. Read engadget... their posts are good for these sorts of things.

true but they dont right now, and we are comparing a specific brand which lacks a marketplace (doesnt have access to android marketplace) and also all the features mentioned above

I could add sarcasm (like the very end line is supposed to be one. I guess the way ill be saying it will make it sound like its sarcastic.

Im just going for a funny skit/ad so anything funny would be good.

and does anyone have any other suggestions or ideas that i can base this ad around? i was thinking about the lag/slow OS/ram but not sure how to do it. Maybe he freezes every few seconds. As you can see writing funny skits isnt my forte, haha

Apple won't revive that campaign. It would be overusing it.

And if you watch the Get A Mac ads closely you notice they aren't bitchy... Mac is very subtle about everything he does, and acts as a friend to PC. Making fun of the design and being sarcastic would make apple look worse.

thanks! I will definitely take this into consideration. I guess since this ad is a small part of the overall presentation, we are aiming for it to be funny so the presentation can get off to a good start.

we are doing the presentation like a keynote, and yes we have a steve jobs, with black turtleneck, blue jeans and white running shoes lol

Just reread the initial post! I get what you guys are doing!
Try tweaking it just a tad, to make the iPad look more like a nice guy

k thanks. Yes after your first post, i changed the Halloween comment to something nicer and a few other changes. The delivery of the words will be key, so we will definitely pay close attention to that

Forgive me, but I don't get it. Your little script is wrong on every point. Multitouch, 3G, bluetooth, an app store, basically every android device has this kind of functionality these days.

Perhaps you shouldn't spend your time bashing android's functionality, but rather talk about how there really aren't any good android tablets out there yet. There are a few, but none of them offer the same balance of performance, display quality, battery life, or build quality that one gets out of iPad.
