Other devices that are able to compete with iPhone build quality

I'm looking for an Android or Windows8Phone driven mobile phone that has a screen size between 3.5" and 4,5".
Is there any phone from ans manufacturer that is equal to the iPhone in terms of build quality and the materials used? Besides the HTC One?

I don't wanna miss the glass/aluminium.

The nokia Lumia are incredibly built devices

i had the pleasure of using the lumia 1020 and it is beautifully constructed and built device

The HTC One is the best android device in terms of build. The sheer edge to edge flush screen and aluminum design kills all other android devices. Most android devices I've seen are all plastic, so when I saw the HTC One for the first time, I was mesmerized at the build quality compared to iPhone.

I agree the HTC one is a super smooth, solid design, and that alone got me to buy it and try it for a few weeks. Ended up going back to the iPhone, looks alone just wasn't enough in the end. Very good design though, felt so much more solid than the Galaxy.

Wow the MotoX would be cool but sadly customization is ATT exclusive and the price is rumored around 600$ -.-
On top of all that: i'm from Germany so i won't get it anyways!

What about the Padfone Infinity? I'd love to get my hands on one but it isn't available in the US and even if I could get one imported, it's not fully compatible with my carrier--not sure if its available in Germany. IMO, one of, if not the best looking phone available anywhere, with killer specs driving it.

My vote goes to Nokia. They have always had great build quality and it has only gotten better with the most recent Lumia.

I had a 920 and loved it for the most part. I am keeping a real close eye on WP8 because my major issues with the platform will likely be addressed eventually. The 1020 looks killer. I am missing the camera on the 920 badly.

But yeah, those things are tanks. I'm using a GS4 right now and the build is total garbage compared to Nokia and Apple.

Does it really matter if the phone is made out of plastic? Cellphones were made out of various grades of plastic for 15 years before the iPhone existed. It's not like the metal and glass construction has helped the iPhone have a useful life beyond 3-4 years anyway. The hardware is old and outdated in 1 1/2 to 2 years and the software stops getting updates after 3-ish years anyway.

Anyway, my suggestion goes towards the HTC One. Not sure why you're not including it in your search.
