Did you empty your trash?Hey. I deleted some movies from my air, and suddenly my other storage increased by 4 gb or something. Why?
If you enabled it again, it will create local backups again.Yes. But what I did before was I deleted the local backups by disabling time machine and enabling it again and AFTER that it just suddenly increased by 4 gb.
(I use time machine on external hard drive)
Did you check the link I posted?I know. But the backup section is zero but the other section increased. Do you know why ?
It should be, but you can delete it safely. Its the .mobileBackup.trash folder which is 14 gb, i have found out.
Is it deleted by it self ?
I have tried to delete it. But it comes
With a blocked message.
You can just leave it if you want and OS X will shrink that space if the storage is needed. Or if you want to delete it now just turn Time Machine off then back on and it will get zeroed out.
I have tried that 10 times it doesn't delete anything in the .mobilebackups.TRASH.
It's annoying I have just lost 14 gb of storage.
That's also what I encountered, I turned time machine of an on and my mobilebackups went to zero and other increased by 14.
So you are saying I should turn of time machine local backups in terminal with sudo tmutil. And then wait some minutes ?
it works now
i used the sudo bash command rm -rf and dragged the folder in, and suddenly i got 14 gb of storage back...
and i thank you both for your help![]()
Another thing. Can you disable local backups forever and use time machine as it used to be like in snow leopard ?
