"Other" went from almost half a gigabyte to nothing

Does anyone know what this "Other" category is when looking at your disk space of your iPhone in iTunes? I've been seeing it steadily increasing until recently, where it no longer is existent. Does anyone know how that could happen? My phone is not jailbroken etc. There is nothing that I am aware of that I did that could have caused to remove the "Other"

Other has all the other “stuff” that doesn’t fit the other categories (like notes, contacts, calendar, etc.). It can’t go to nothing. Are you sure you’re looking at the right thing? Reboot your iPhone and it may change back.
