@Apple freaking do something about this, employees are freaking scared to come into work. I think you can afford some real security. I don’t even want to go to the mall anymore. This is the 6th time all over the Bay Area recently. This is your home state protect it!

FYI, not all of them got away from the mall during that robbery yesterday.

Yeah, the devices are useless (except to try to sell to someone else on the street and then depart before they realize it's a useless phone) but they also robbed a store in broad daylight, inside a mall, with security cameras all over the place, and lots of witnesses. They probably are not the brightest crayons in the box anyway.

It's happened here at Victoria Gardens, CA as well. No one stops them, not the employees for fear of being fired, and anyone else... it's rare I guess? My wife would kill me if I attempted to stop them, but I sure would want to.

Ever since that happened though, the SB Sheriff's office has had a team of cops very close by all the time.

Dude was probably upset that everyone could see that underwear he was wearing.

It's a lose lose scenario for Apple right? Have security and someone will complain bout how evil Apple is being. Anything the security officer does will be recorded and it will be Apple's fault.

When I worked at Wal-Mart, we were told we'd be fired if we so much as touched anyone who stole property. So when customers were detaining some dude who was stealing in store, they were flabbergasted/offended that I wouldn't help them (they were asking me to help) as they were holding the guy down. I felt horrible. As a big fat guy, I could have definitely helped. :p

It’s not just apple stores either. A bunch of T-Mobile stores in Southern California were getting robbed for the phones also.

They need to come up with a plan. More families and kids are in malls then Just in in a regular store you know.. If it just so happens a gun fight breaks out, it would be the worst situation around. Specially if Apple knows about there stores being targeted right now.

See what there high prices have done, not only screws us buying them but could get us hurt in the process.

I don't know if I'd blame high prices on people stealing iPhones. Your point about a gun fight is spot on though.

There is no punishment for people doing this, society basically rewards them for doing this. Yeah, you risk a concerned citizen or off duty cop tackling you... but the upside is, a quick way to make tens of thousands of dollars. I think that's why this is happening. People already got away with it several times... nothing has changed... why not try it again?

And this is so close to Apple Park, I mean this is our home. They now know there stores are being targeted and action must be done. I don’t want to take my kids in the mall anymore for the fear that one time a gun gets pulled. I live in Santa Rosa and this is the second time in a month!!! I’m

In Victoria Gardens? it happened twice if I remember right. Now they park a San Bernardino Sheriff's officer car right outside and cops are usually patrolling really close by. That's put a stop to it here. Haven't heard of it happening again for months. But I bet most PDs won't do this voluntarily or even be allowed to for one store.

That which is tolerated, is soon deemed to be permitted and acceptable. Allowing this degrades our society.
I know the prevalence of social media and smart phones to record such instances has increased our awareness. But sure seems our country in the last 30 years in tanking fairly hard. Obviously that would be my opinion. From my viewpoint. Hope this isn't getting to political and in the wrong forum. Please remove comment if so. Thanks!

At least have security cameras at the doors, don't rely on the fact in within shopping center... Perhaps the units on display could have their serial numbers de-registered before employees put them on show. That way no one can really use them.

Lol screaming please. Should of thought about the consequences before you tried some stupid **** like that.

They don't think.... They just know they want it, (and with any luck), also get away with it..

People are *gasp* stealing things? How shocking! Perhaps you might consider moving yourself down to Marin County, if not Palo Alto itself. The closer you can get to the protection of Apple Park, and further from any of The Poor, the better.

Whatever you do, clutch your pearls tightly when you venture outdoors ma'am.

Or if you're not rich enough, you can move to the newly gentrified East Palo Alto.
