I got my standard configuration 11" air in November. It's run beautifully for the most part, but I tried doing serious document work on it last week and got an out of memory warning. I was working in a 300 page Word document (maybe a 100 meg document) with pictures inside and had 10 pdf files open as well as Chrome. I also had the air hooked to a second monitor. There were long delays in typing within the document and I received an out of memory error when I tried to open Powerpoint. Anyone else have a similar problem with this kind of workflow?

Which application is it that occupies the most memory? You can see this from the Activity Monitor.
But frankly, I haven't heard of this problem with the 2 GB model yet (I thought it wouldn't occur until after Lion)

700 MB is crazy high if the file itself is only 100 MB large. How much did Chrome require?
Better question, how full is the disk? The system could have run out of space for creating swapfiles.
