I'm having a problem after i synced my iphone with my outlook contacts. Since i purchased the iphone away from home, i have some contacts that were manually added to the phone.

After syncing with my home PC, choosing the merge option for the contacts.
I now have duplicats on the iphone, for example i had one contact on the iphone with only phone #'s and my outlook for that same person only had the email address. The merge function, well, did not merge. I now have 2 entries under contacts on the phone, 1 the origanl manually added entry and 2 the email only entry from outlook. I also have the duplicates in outlook as well.

Also any contacts i had ONLY on the iphone will not come up in outlook. Outlook is complaining about an "invalid ENTRYID" error.

I tried to search for this issue but have not seen anything. Has anyone had this problem? Fix?

Still fighting with this. If i view the contacts under contacts tab, i can open them just fine. But if i use the contact button in the mail tab, they will not open correctly.

Did anyone have any success syncing contacts with the iphone and Outlook 2007?

Not sure of any special setup that I have, but mine seem to sync fine when docked and using outlook 2007. My outlook is setup off of an exchange server, not sure if that has any effect.

Just purchased and activated yesterday. Mine is kinda giving me a fit, it only syncs 33 of my 723 contacts, from Outlook 2007. I tried a restore hoping to kind of set the record straight, but it goes to the last backup and I think that is where the same 33 come from. I deleted them, but on the next sync, they were removed from my Outlook, and never came back to the iphone. I really don't want to have to enter the other 700 or so contacts, and if they will not merge, as you say, then I have all these different contact books out and about. Oh, BTW, the 33 are not necessarily the first 33 alphabetical listings, kind of random acts of ignorance.

PS> I have no problem syncing all 723 into my iPod, the drop down list shows Micrsosoft Outlook, instead of just Outlook in the drop down when the iPhone is connected.

Same problem here

I am having this same problem and I have not found any resolution to it. It happens on two of my PCs that I tried to sync my iPhone contacts on.

What I have found is it seems to corrupt my PST file. Here are the steps that cause it for me:

I have a contact in my iphone that my computer is lacking. I sync my iPhone with Outlook 2003. The contact will then show up under "Contacts" in Outlook 2003. If I go to "Tools" --> "Address book" in Outlook SOME of the entries will show up. When I try to double click on any entry I get an error message saying "The properties dialog box could not be displayed. An invalid ENTRYID was passed in."

Removing and recreating the address book does not do any good. I found that if I create a new PST then everything works until I try sync my iPhone. It's as if the iPhone sync is somehow corrupting my PST. Has anyone else seen this or found a solution?

I am using firmware 1.1.1 on my iPhone. Outlook 2003 SP2. My iPhone is jailbroken and unlocked using anySim. I don't see how having an unlocked phone would do that but I am thinking it could be related to that.
