The last couple of days I am having an issue with my Outlook email account. I use the stock IOS email app on my iPhone and I it keeps continually prompting me to enter my account password. I deleted my Outlook account from the iPhone, re-entered the info and same problem.

All other email accts: iCloud, Gmail working fine, no issues.

Anyone else having this issue?

Have had the same off and on for many months with just Outlook and not just on my iPhone. Pain in the ass. Convinced it's Microsoft/Outlook. That's one of the reasons it's not my primary any longer.

Is your Outlook account set up as Outlook.com or Exchange? I have mine set up in the Mail app as Exchange and am not getting prompted for passwords.

Currently mine is .com but I've tried both off and on. As I said, I have experienced the Outlook password issue on multiple devices, platforms and mail clients for many months.

I happen to have both .com and Exchange accounts, and two days ago a popup did come, I just tapped Cancel and it never came again. I did not have to enter my password either.

Yep, I never have to actually enter my pw. Whatever client or device I’m using it occurs randomly then clears on its own. Never occurs on any mail account other than outlook. An irritant but nothing serious.

Same issue here, getting prompted for the password. And, that's even if I reenter my password.
My Outlook.com account is added as Outlook.com. Maybe I will try it as Exchange.

EDIT:
Tried to add my Outlook.com account, as an Exchange account. But, I do not know all the server information, and such. Time to Google it - LOL

Issue has not appeared for the last 2 days...guess whatever it was has been corrected.

Yesterday MacOS added my @ Live.com account. There is already one there in Internet part of Settings. Apple Mail added it on its own! But like the one there already, as Inactive.

I use Office 365, OneDrive, and Edge. I really like Edge, find it looks better - fonts it uses and dark mode - but I used it for cross platform to Windows laptop and Android.

A system should never add an account. I've had "we see you have xyz account in email clients like Gmail but they are part of system settings accounts. But getting pushed? What's with that? Did Microsoft do the pushing? It's an old email account that I don't use after it got royally messed up years ago. I used Outlook for a while and it tried to pull in all my accounts, ended up having duplicates of every email - from Gmail accounts, iCloud and Live.com

No idea why it would, nothing I did. Still on Catalina and ios 14 - something that... should never happen though.

Why would you have to add all of the server info unless you selected the Manual option? With the Sign In option, you simply add your account and a optional label, then add your password. After it's logged in, you can choose which features you want to have available to sync on that device.

Yes, under normal circumstances, that is what has happened in the past. Alas, on this occasion, that is not what happened.

However, for now, I have left it as it was, added via Outlook.com. For 24 hours or so now, it has not prompted for my password.

Tues 10 Nov @ 230pm EST. Besides the usual 'issues' with Outlook sign-on, it looks like Outlook (and a lot of Microsoft) is experiencing problems.
So there is likely nothing wrong with your account, so don't change your password - in typical fashion, it seems Microsoft Support is blaming the user rather than themselves.

Having issues where it forgets password and then takes many attempts to set it.

I’ve been having this issue over the past few days too with my old Hotmail account in the stock Mail app, it seemed to start after turning on two-factor authentication but maybe that’s coincidental. I would ever so occasionally be asked to re-enter my password before (maybe once a month?) which I assumed was just some security thing but now it’s asking every day and on multiple devices.

Still, at least I haven’t had that annoying invalid/expired certificate error for a while now...

I'm getting the password entry box appearing on what seems like a daily basis. Although a pain in the proverbial, it's reassuring to hear I'm not the only one with the problem.

I'm telling you folks, this is not a new issue. it's been around since IOS 13 or earlier. It's an Outlook/Microsoft issue. No pattern or reason to it. Appears and disappears just like your friendly ghost. You all do a google search and you will find a vast number going back at least 4 years on this Outlook issue. It's not just IOS mail client, but eMclient, outlook and others. Temporary fixes only.

I was getting a "Cannot Verify Server Identity" popup, over and over, for an Office 365 account last week. I tried deleting and re-adding the account both as IMAP and Exchange but it kept coming.

I don't know if I still have the popup issue as I'm jailbroken and got rid of the popups with my "AutoAlerts" tweak.

There was an azure active directory issue last week when they performed updates. It was resolved after a few hours when they rolled back the updates. That was causing the repeated login prompts.

I don't know if this will help anyone, but yesterday I switched my primary Outlook email to a secondary alias (and deleted the previous primary). As expected I was getting errors in the iPadOS Mail App, so deleted the account and attempted to add the new one as an Exchange (which method had worked well) using the Sign In option. But now on 14.2 it didn't work. Adding it as an Outlook.com address worked perfectly.

Exact same here and on MS forums I've seen a few others... an obvious bug report it to apple as more they get the quicker it gets resolved. I use a hotmail act for a spam email address... had acct since 1998... BUT I always have to scan for Apple receipts it was original one used for iTunes purchased.

Anyhow hoping its resolved soon. I find no rhyme or reason to it popping up as im not checking email when it happens. I'm usually just browsing the web. It was here prior to last update as I believe I first experienced it on iOS 14.

I have mine as pop3. I had an earlier problem getting it via exchange.
