Contacts, email, music, ... synced fine but Calendar items are a problem.

Calendar events set up on the iPhone sync fine to Outlook.

No calendar events set up in Outlook sync to iPhone.

Anyone else in same boat? Any suggestions?

thanks

My iCal didn't sync correctly either at first (it was a one way street as well).

I have 6 calendars in iCal (Work, Personal, etc.) so what I did was export each calendar individually ... then I deleted each calendar. Then I made 6 new calendars and imported all the events back into the correct calendars.

Jiffy!

Everything syncs perfectly now.

Try it. I bet you simply have a corrupted calendar and this should do the trick.

Nothing in Outlook 2007 syncs to my iPhone at all. Running under vista and I cant even get the contacts to sync. I had to export my contacts to a CSV file and import them into Windows Mail to sync them to my iPhone.

Mine syncs, but had an problem where the schdueling would be wwwwaaayyy off, by 4 hours. Show correct on PC running Vista and Outlook 07, but iPhone would show 4 hours off.

Scheduled at 1pm shows at 5pm, scheduled at 7pm, shows at 11pm....

Found fix finally, went into settings on iPhone, and turned off the TimeZone feature, and now calendar shows correctly.

WOW I spoke so soon: When I turned the TimeZone Setting off and turned off sync with outlook for calendar, it was fine, synced back with outlook, now times are messed up again by 4 hours....this is great....LOL....now back to work on trying to fix.

My situation:

Some Outlook 2003 items syncing to iPhone
All iPhone items syncing to Outlook 2003

I had a similar problem. One cause (I'm still having some issues) was corrupted forms. I looked at all the appointments that didn't synch and when I opened them, I got a message "The form required to view this message cannot be displayed..."

There is a fix for this. It seems to have worked.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/839804/

I'm pretty sure the forms issue was unrelated to the iPhone - it preceded iDay by a couple of weeks, but I didn't troubleshoot it until I noticed some appointments not appear on my iPhone. Turns out that all appointments made with corrupt forms didn't synch from Outlook to iPhone.

This might just be one of many reasons for synch issues.

Well, I have tried all of the suggested fixes. Upgraded to iTunes 7.3.1, confirmed iTunes add-in. etc. And problem still exists. Seems like it is an Outlook 2007 issue. Interestingly, if I right click on appointments in Outlook, the ones created on iPhone dont offer a menu but the ones created in Outlook do. Double clicking on either works. So clearly, there is some, apparently hidden, attribute of Outlook 2007 created appointments that doesnt play nice with iPhone or iTunes or something.

A workaround posted on another board by another user works for me. It's a bit annoying but it is the best thing I have seen. Following is their suggestion for anyone in the same boat as I am in.

My workaround … copy, paste, and modify an iPhone-created appointment that was synced over to Outlook, and use it for all future Outlook-created appointments. Tedious, but it works (and obviously iPhone then recognizes the store/code/tag in the new Outlook-created appointment.)

Any other suggestions are welcomed and appreciated.

One thing that seems to have worked for me is this...

Go to Calendar Properties, make sure that for "When Posting to this folder" use "IPM.Appointment".

sync problems too

I am losing my mind. I seem to be having outlook calendar sync-ing issues similar to meandmyiphone.

- I have windows xp, outlook 2003
- I have yet to sync my calendars.
- I use lots of recurring appointments in outlook. I see the recurrence options in outlook don't match those in iphone. But even my nonrecurring items don't sync.
- I thought at first it synched from iphone to outlook calendar, but now it sure doesn't
- Every time I try to sync itunes says it's syncing my calendar, but nothing ever shows up on iphone - except perhaps for one item that had a duration of one day.
- My contacts synched fine the first time. Now it's missing some changes, but mostly from outlook to iphone, rather than from iphone to outlook, I think.
- I have 2 com add ins: itunes outlook add in, and outlook itunes sync add in. Both had been properly enabled, but now I see outlook won't keep outlook itunes sync addin enabled. I've also gotten some error messages from outlook saying it didn't like that add in and it caused a serious error or something like that.
- Someone on another user board realized they had renamed their default folder for outlook items. When they renamed it to the default (outlook.pst} synching worked perfectly. Not for me.
- I have DELETED all my old calendar entries in hopes of getting rid of any corrupt ones. Still, syncing doesn't work.
- I have checked that outlook uses the default appointment form - it does.
- I have used intellisync to sync from outlook to yahoo calendar. It worked, but I saw some funny icons appeared in outlook with some of my recurring items. I noticed those icons changed once after trying to sync to iphone.

Any further suggestions would be MOST welcome.
I really can't see plunking down 600 bucks and still having to keep two calendars. Think it's the phone? Think I can get a refund after 14 days?

I have different problem. Outlook 2007 calendar syncs fine with iPhone but events (meetings) times are screw up ... it shows PM instead AM and sometimes completely wrong meeting time. Very strange! Any ideas how to fix this?
Time and date on iPhone are correct.

I am using Outlook 2007 and I can't find the "Calendar Properties" that you are referring to... is this solution intended for Outlook 2007? Can you please help me out if so?

Thanks,
