Outlook Express 5.02 freezes OS 9.2.2

Have had OE on the mac for years without troubles. Recently, when trying to launch OE, the only thing that happens is that OUTLOOK EXPRESS appears in the top title bar but the program never loads and the computer freezes. Cursor still moves but nothing will activate. Have to force quit to restart. Any suggestions?

If you have recently upgraded other Microsoft applications, then you may be experiencing a library conflict--the Mac equivalent of DLL hell. It is my experience that there exists a major conflict between later versions of OE (such as yours) and Office 98.
