Anyone who has found a working solution to power a macbook 12" and output 4k@60hz video simultaneously through the USB type-C connector? Outputting 4k@60hz works just fine for me (http://9to5mac.com/2016/06/04/how-to-enable-4k-60hz-resolution-2016-macbook/, using a USB type-C to displayport cable), but I have not found a solution that provides power as well. The hubs I have checked out either lack the ability to power the macbook, or limit video output to 30hz.

To clarify, I don't want to buy a completely new display, because I have too many of those already. I am aware that there is one display that accepts a video signal through USB type-C and powers the macbook at the same time, but I am looking for a generic solution that works with other displays.

Nothing like that exists. You either have to buy a USB-C display which currently only limits to Acer, LG or IBM. If not, you'll have to use some type of dongle/adapter using a USB-C to charge and a display cable for the monitor.

Yeah, this would be an acceptable solution. The question is: what dongle/adapter should be used?

Previous reviews seem to indicate that the Dell docks don't work with the MacBooks. Dell subsequently confirmed as much.

I'm waiting for the CalDigit dock to be released, but the initial reviews of OWC's USB-C dock lead me to believe that they all are seriously buggy platforms and this new "all-in-one" magical USB-C port isn't the holy grail some of us wished it to be.
