Hello

My Mini has been not as sprightly of late. The beach ball has appeared a few times. Nothing too serious, but just seems a little busy for not allot happening sometimes.

So, Opened up activity monitor, and with all the apps off the system shows about 2% usage on the system, but 50-80% for the user. I'm sure when it was knew it was twiddling its thumbs most of the time.
Why could this be?

I ran Onyx last night to clear some logs etc, and seems a bit better, but not as good as it was.
Any help appreciated.

Good question.

Haven't a clue is the honest answer.

Although interestingly I loaded activity monitor to have a look at the options, to see what I was missing... And my usage .. 2% ish

Much more like I would expect... So what is going on when it was mad busy? I did have apps like safari and mail open (in fact I do now with my 2%) but they were closed down and left off for a few minutes to see if things settled before I did the screen shot.

Hmmm, most odd,

You're going to want to unhide the toolbar using the pill shaped button on the upper right hand side. Then in the drop down you want to select All Processes instead of just My Processes.

There's probably a system level program that's running amok. I can make plenty of guesses too.

Ahh the pill.. Should have spotted that. Doh.

Seems happy now, so I'll keep an eye on it. At least I know where else to look if it does it again now.

Cheers
