I've been using a bootscreen-flashed amd 7950 on windows (I primarily use windows) and have been wondering if it's possible to overclock it? under heavy load for a while the max temp I see is ~70 but it usually sits around 63 normally when doing anything graphically intensive (40 idle). AMD settings has a overclocking menu with 1200mhz GPU/1575mhz Mem being the max, (925/1250 currently). Haven't messed with overclocking before since the card does great on its own for what I need, but if I have the headroom, free performance would be nice.

EFI flashing an HD 7970 or an R9 280X ( at Netkas ) would be more rewarding but I agree the HD 7970 is a nice card especially the HIS 7950 ( had one 'til it died ) - had a wonderful cooling system, pumped all hot air to the exterior of my cMP.

If I ever see one in almost-as-new condition I'll snap it up.
