Finally, ordered i9 9900K for my iMac 27 2019. As I have no windows PC to play with Intel's Extreme Tuning Utility... I was wondering is it possible to safely overclock the CPU from within the macOS environment itself. Which utility can achieve it? Any online guide would be awesome. TIA

Regular i9 9900K is compatible but sometimes it can be a gamble with ES chips. Sometimes they will work fine and other times they may not work. Best way to test is by just popping it in.

You are attempting to overclock a high TDP CPU inside a confined aluminum case with very poor ventilation?
Good luck on that.

The gentleman is well versed in perversions )))))
Do you know how to use the Python program? If not, then stay out of it. If yes, I can write a script to change clock frequencies and voltages. You can specify the desired frequencies and voltages yourself. Just don't complain later that the processor burned down. The motherboard will not overclock, as well as the stock cooling system. The processor can be overclocked up to 4.9-5.3 GHz. Only it's going to burn up. You've been warned.
P.S. the script will not be free

So first you buy it, spend the money, and then you ask the forum if it'll fit or not!? Genius!

Take a chill pill dude! Overclocking is something that I am only contemplating. Read the OP before trolling. ;) I didn't buy it to necessarily overclock it.
