What makes some songs start before the previous song is quite over?

Be aware it doesn't play nice with songs that have the "gapless playback" flag set. It's one or the other unfortunately.

I'm curious if crossfade playback can be applied to individual albums. I don't want everything in my library to crossfade, but there are two albums I'm trying to combine that have to have crossfade playback enabled in order to work.

Any ideas?
