I have an iPad Mini 2 that I bought 4 years ago. Originally it didn't have this feature, but an iOS update a year or two later gave me the ability to open a second ap on top of the first one.

This was a game changer for me because I use an invoicing app and need to copy and paste many snippets of customer info and other stuff from the Notes app into the invoicing app. So while in the invoicing app I would just swipe from the right side of the screen and Notes would overlay part of the invoicing app enough to copy the info, then I could go right back to the invoicing app underneath seamlessly.

I just updated to iOS 11 and it seems like that feature is gone. The only way I found to do it is by swiping up from the bottom all the way up which opens panes and shows other apps, but that completely closes the first one and opens the second. That is back the way it used to be when I first bought the iPad.

Is there any way to overlay (might be called split screen) apps on iOS 11 like I used to? Or do I have to go back to the old fashioned way of closing one app and opening the other, then vice versa?

The functionality is still there, but has changed.

Thanks a lot!

From what I can tell, Slideover works on my Mini 2, but I can't reposition it. Using the little bar at the top doesn't do anything. And Split View doesn't work at all. But Slideover should give me the functionality that I need so that's good.
