OWC RAM ripoff?

Good Lord, man. OWC is one of the best suppliers on the planet. No one is ripping you off. You buy what you need, when you need it, at the price available at that time. No conspiracy involved.

It hasn't ruined my day, but when I am counting every penny to get my new 24" $30 matters.
It was an merely an observation. That's a pretty hefty "everyday" price fluctuation, and the timing is a little suspect. IMO.

I don't think it is hefty at all. But thats me. If you have patience you will get a good deal.

Like I said, I'm just pinching every cent to get this computer ... I am currently using a G4 1 GHz lamp iMac, which I LOVE and will feel like i am being unfaithful to her once the new Alu. beauty pushes her aside!!

Yeah, price fluctuations are a real pain. And they go up right when everybody wants to travel, imagine that!
It is the free market system at work. I hope you are able to get what you need at a reasonable price. If you can wait for it to come down, you can try... but then again, it could go up more!

That's who and where I went to get my memory for my iMac last year. Great people and quick shipping as well as the lifetime warranty if that's what you want. I do remember the price varied but I was able to keep an eye on it for about a week and once it went low, I bought, just like stock

I ordered mine for $229 last Wed. It says Techworks on it with the Micron symbol. BTW Micron is used as the factory ram (I think). Good deal. Will be installing mine in my new Imac when it gets here tomm. or Wed. Guess they jacked it up from all of the orders and its still a hell of a deal at $269 IMO.
Micron, Hynix and Samsung are the main brands Apple buys -- they buy in bulk contracts and maintain multiple suppliers.
Don't wait too long, DDR2 is starting an upward trend again.
