Ok I could be wrong.. .but I could swear the 4 GB RAM from OWC was $239 yesterday.
Well, today, it is $269.
What a crock! Just in time for the new releases.
While yes, it is still a pretty good deal, that is just BAD business.

Good Lord, man. OWC is one of the best suppliers on the planet. No one is ripping you off. You buy what you need, when you need it, at the price available at that time. No conspiracy involved.

Really helpful, snipe

RAM prices change everyday. As do most hardware items. Get over it.

It hasn't ruined my day, but when I am counting every penny to get my new 24" $30 matters.
It was an merely an observation. That's a pretty hefty "everyday" price fluctuation, and the timing is a little suspect. IMO.

Wait for it to drop in price. Or get it from here: http://www.newegg.com/Product/Produ...Subcategory=381&description=&Ntk=&srchInDesc=

I don't think it is hefty at all. But thats me. If you have patience you will get a good deal.

I've got all the patience in the world! (I have a 3 yr-old! :)
Like I said, I'm just pinching every cent to get this computer ... I am currently using a G4 1 GHz lamp iMac, which I LOVE and will feel like i am being unfaithful to her once the new Alu. beauty pushes her aside!!

I could have sworn gas was $2.58 at the corner this morning... now it is $2.64!

Yeah, price fluctuations are a real pain. And they go up right when everybody wants to travel, imagine that!

It is the free market system at work. I hope you are able to get what you need at a reasonable price. If you can wait for it to come down, you can try... but then again, it could go up more!

Thanks!

Try DMS for $238. I recommend them as equal to OWC. Many others here will recommend them as well.

Thanks for the reply. I have never heard of them but will check them out. I will check "everyday" to wait to strike. My new Alu. will be fine limping along with 1 GB for now....

That's who and where I went to get my memory for my iMac last year. Great people and quick shipping as well as the lifetime warranty if that's what you want. I do remember the price varied but I was able to keep an eye on it for about a week and once it went low, I bought, just like stock ;)
Enjoy your new Mac.

I stopped buying from anyone else.

For me it's OWC only now.

fair prices and superb support, lifetime guarentee of replacement are just some of the reasons I rec them highly.

I ordered mine for $229 last Wed. It says Techworks on it with the Micron symbol. BTW Micron is used as the factory ram (I think). Good deal. Will be installing mine in my new Imac when it gets here tomm. or Wed. Guess they jacked it up from all of the orders and its still a hell of a deal at $269 IMO.
