First mac here and I'm just a bit frustrated with quality issues and basically here to vent.
- Silver paint on the metal strip under the space bar is flaking off.
- My battery is bulging and its life is getting much shorter. (probably related to the next problem). Ive taken it out now due to fears of a flaming apple.
- Random shutdowns when running on battery until it becomes impossible to restart unless plugged in.
- Strange beeping noise (error sound) coming from speaker or somewhere else in the MBP, even when MBP is muted. Random and quiet sound. Goes away when speakers or mic is in use. Very annoying... to keep it away i leave iTunes running on mute.
- Often my MBP stays awake when I close the lid, and goes to sleep when I open it.
all firmware up to date.
I got it in May. It's already been to Apple Service once for the beeping, (changed out an inverter... but that apparently wasnt the problem). Gonna have to drag it back over there again today. Ive been holding out on taking it in because I need it for school as I'm doing web design and this is all Ive got, but this battery issue pushed it over the edge. Plus I need to go spend some cash on an external for backing everything up. Bah.
