I have $400 to buy a P&S camera. I want something "small" and that shoots HD video. I have a 40D but I need something on the smaller side that I can slip in and out of my pocket easily.

I would love to hear your recommendations. Thanks

I just bought a Canon S90 and I absolutely love it. It has great manual controls and shoots RAW, does fantastic in low light (opens up to f/2.0), and I love the control rings. It's not the tiniest camera out there, but it fits in a pocket just fine. The only downside is that it doesn't shoot in HD.

Either the s90 or a Canon G series would be great. I use a G9 for my compact camera- it's a little bulky, but I love the fact it has a hot shoe!

Nikon S8000

I bought a Nikon S8000 5 months ago when they first came out. I really like mine and it provided fantastic photos while I was in Italy for 3 months. I'd do a little research on Nikon S8000.:)
