Hey,
I just bought my powerbook and I was a windows user before and I used kazaa to download music, software, and movies. What can I use on a mac to download this kind of stuff? Limewire? Or I was reading something in a magazine about a download for iTunes or something. Help me out! Thanks

Bryan

And of course, the new iTunes Music Store, where you can actually legally own this stuff. The downloads are fast, the quality is high, and no waiting for available servers, etc. I use the service, if anything, to support Apple and their ongoing outreach to support the end user.

Limewire and Aquisition are popular OS X clients. I like Limewire the best out of all the Mac P2P proggies, but nothing Mac compares to kazaa im afraid. :(

Did you keep the windows machine? If so, install XP Pro and stick it in a closet. Then get the Remote Desktop Control for the Mac. That will let log in to the Windows machine and set up all your naughty business on Kazaa. Close the RDC and resume your Mac work. Later, after your downloads are done, just transfer them over the network.

Acquisition and Neo are my P2Ps of choice.
Although I've only downloaded about 1 or 2 songs, got no choice, no iTMS avaliable internationally.

Yep.

wow, NO Neo is not NeoNapster!

Neo searches for KaZaA users, you can't share and you basically leech. :(

My 2 Fav apps (Limewire sucks) are: GiftBox (sourceforge) and Bit Torrent. (Limewire sucks).

Neo is decent if you have like a billion found users, I found a billion and then I still saw that KaZaA sucks. :( (Limewire sucks).

For NEO each time you relaunch you need scan your master list over and over again, bah trying to get back the good users you had last time... annyoing, but still better than limewire (sucks).

Limewire (sucks) because all users leech, there are 2 kb download speeds and users kill you if you start downloading off of them, bah.

Personality i prefer p2p but know lots of people prefer file shareing, i guess its just a matter of choice...........As for a good client try.............Aquisition(same as limewire but not writen in Java so it runs a hell of alot faster and connects to more servers...If u know a good amount about computers and have lots of try mldonkey... it can connect to the tracktrack network (KAzza) but its a bitch to get working... have fun

P2p is for PC users and students who can not afford to buy the software they need to use. If people have to steal could they please keep it to stealling stuff like Windows and not stuff like Mac OS X or cracking the iTunes sharing thing. It really pisses my off when companies limit what I can do with their software because others steal it. I dont want the XP activation on Macs!

Having said that I have found one use for Kazaa, downloading software where there is no demo (like windows) and trying it out to see if it is any good. Then delteting it if it is not or buying the student edition if it is (I am at Uni).
