Package disabler app?

I just picked up a Verizon Note 5 (coming from iPhone 6 plus). I downloaded the package disabler app on referrals from a another thread.

I'm afraid however that I might disable an app that is necessary for my phone.

Is there a list somewhere of apps that can be disabled/not disabled anywhere?

Or can someone please post up some of the apps I can get rid of (or not get rid of)

Works Awesome! I have an AT&T Note 5 and have a crap ton of misc. Junk disabled. Just got back from a week in Vegas with no wifi, just on LTE and with moderate use for work I would go through an 18hr day off charger and still have over 65% battery left. I'm absolutely convinced I could get 24-36hrs out of the phone with ease.

Thanks for the replies. I should have stated that I AM NOT a computer type guy. I clicked the link above, but the file just appears as gibberish (to me, Im on a mac).

But I did find that the bloatware was shown as a different color as the others, and says its safe to remove them. I then found a setting to "disable all bloatware" I chose it and it deleted 118 apps! I'm assuming theres more I could delete, but I think I will leave as is for now.

And is there any way to view the list, but not as an XML file that looks like this?.....

Not the smartest thing to do, as not everything color coded as bloatware is actually bloatware or not going to be used.

Here are just some of the things color coded as bloatware on my T-mobile S6 Edge ............. Calendar widget, Beaming services, Backup and Restore, Wallpaper cropper, Chrome cast services, Dual Clock widget, Touch Wiz Email app, Favorite Contacts, Galaxy app store, Google Play Books & Games, Live Wallpaper, and more.

Basically, all system apps that don't come with pure Android are most likely color coded bloatware. There are probably plenty of Touch Wiz options and features that are broken on your Note 5. I would enable all of them back and just scroll through them, disabling one by one at your preference. It's not that hard to make out what most of them do.

All I did was went through the list myself and disabled the obvious ones. Anything I wasn't sure of I left alone. I can post screen shots if someone needs me to.

My phone is still operating as it should.

Also remember, you can click into the app from the list to view more detail about the app you're considering disabling. That helps too for those that you're not sure of.

I put it in my Samsung. Apart from disabling my clock widget by accident its all good. I figured out the demon.

so I reinstalled the apps, and will go through the list and see if I can make sense of it....will start uninstalling the obvious ones first I guess

Here we go. Many screen grabs...

Anyway, with all these turned off, my device has been performing and working just as usual. I could probably research and turn off even more, but like I said, the ones I weren't sure about, I just left on. Things that say "Connection" or whatever, I felt it safer to leave intact.

My question is this. Stock android phones like the nexus and moto g don't have as good of a battery as this. What's the deal there? No bloat so they should last longer or the same?

Simple - stock android has less optimisations at its core level for power saving ....

Way to go Samsung minus bloat. I'll update the screen time when it finally needs a charge.
