Just got my Galaxy S4 about 2 weeks ago. Loving it, but random apps are getting a Package Invalid error when updating.

Apps include-
Vine
Instagram
Samsung Link
Words With Friends Free

I've been tweeting back and forth with Samsung and executed the following troubleshooting steps-
clear caches for the respective apps, reboot, try to update. FAIL
Uninstall Apps, try to reinstall (for factory apps uninstall updates). FAIL
Gone into safe mode and done the above. FAIL.

@SamsungSupport is thinking this is a Google Play issue so I wanted to see if other devices were experiencing it and with what apps.

Vine and WWFFree resolved themselves after a few days and then updated like nothing had ever happened. Kind of perplexed by this.

Running stock, not rooted 4.2.2 model I337 on AT&T build I337UCUAMF3

It's an issue with the Play Store, not your S4. I've got the same problem on both my S4 and LG OG, specifically with AirDroid. It's been doing this for the last 2 days.

wow. Ok. Play prob not signing packages properly? seems odd especially for a native samsung app.

$20 says you have Play Store version 4.3.10 installed.

I get this a lot, however if I re-start the app update it downloads the second time.
Have restarted the update at least a dozen times. total failure. Also uninstalled the app and attempted a clean reinstall after cache clearing the Play store. Still fails. Samsung Link auto-updated correctly last night, Instagram was uninstalled, so it won't install at all due to Package Invalid error.

Same here. I do get them occasionally but they download fine if I restart the update.
Not for me!

According to Droid-life its a bug on Google's end.
Try clearing the cache for the play store and restarting the phone

http://www.droid-life.com/2013/08/0...is-invalid-error-for-many-during-app-updates/

I cleared play store cache, uninstalled updates, restarted the phone. Then did the same in Safe Mode. Neither helped. Did that a couple days ago after tweeting Samsung Support

You are correct sir! 4.3.10. Have uninstalled updates and cleared cache in safe mode however while Samsung Link seems to have resolved itself, Instagram will not install on my device.

Had the issue last night when trying to download Skype.

Not a huge deal because of Google Hangouts, but a bit annoying.
