Whenever I open a new document, it always opens with Page Thumbnails showing at the left hand side. It's kinda annoying that I always have to manually click to hide it. Is there a way to set it so that with every new document this doesn't show?

You have to designate that preference on a per-document basis using the document's View menu (not the one in the app toolbar) and select Document only. After saving that document, it will open in Document only view, and not Page Thumbnails. Unfortunately there isn't a global preference to always open every new document in Document only view.

Thanks, but I already do that. Every time I start a completely new document I have to either go to the tool bar or "View" > "Document Only" ... I know it's a little thing but it's so cumbersome over time. I hope they'd consider adding more default options. Mac is supposed to be intuitive.
