In vertical view, you can see the headers on the top. Options to add photos. Go back to my documents. Fix alignment. Add bullet points.

Why is it that when you turn the pages app on landscape, all these options disappear? I have to basically keep turning it from landscape to vertical when i'm making some cosmetic changes.

Serious? Am I missing something here?

Yeah I know what you mean. And it sucks even more because we have no idea if they will ever update the pages app.

Yep, read the reviews in the App Store and you'll see that only about a thousand people have made this same complaint, myself included. Well, maybe not a thousand, but it's a real mind-blower for sure, and I will fall over from shock if Apple doesn't straighten this out in the very first update.

After all, let's not forget that these apps are all v1 software and the iPad has only existed for about a month! Still, it's no excuse, but really, we're just getting started here and im confident that the entire range of iWork apps will improve immensely over time.

Now, why Apple didn't deliver an iPad specific app of their othe ubiquitous apps from launch day is beyond me! Where the hell is the Remote app and iDisk for instance?!?!
