I found iWork09 online and started a trial version. I need to send it to someone with a Mac, but so far, they can't open it!

I saved it and didn't change any settings. They couldn't open it. I click "get info" to see if it can help and see why. I then see its "Read" for staff and everyone else; so I change it to "Read & Write." She still can't open.

What is going on? What do I need to do for it to work? I'm not tech savvy. Could it be because she is using another version of iWork? Thanks for your help.

If I believe correctly the 09 version isn't compatible with newer versions. You can download the newer ones from the Mac App store, you get them for free with a new Mac.

The new version of Pages (5.X) is able to open documents created with the older version (09). Which version of Pages is she using? Also, if you have the trial version of iWork 09 and go the the Mac App Store, you may be able to upgrade to the newer version for free.

Great, thanks for your reply. It seems like I'll have to pay and download the updated version.

Thanks for your reply too. I'm not sure which version she's using, so I'll assume the most recent one.

Thanks again both! Let's see how downloading the newest version helps me:)
