Hi All,

Has anyone else noticed that, since the iOS5.1 and app update, just opening a doc in either Pages or Numbers flags it as updated (i.e. ready to sync to iCloud) even if no changes have been made to said doc? I haven't tried Keynote yet, but I suspect it'll do the same.

Cheers,
Steve

I think it does it for any update. Have to be careful with that, since it seems you have no access to your documents until you have them sync.

That's thrown me for a loop, multiple times, when trying to access either my Pages or Numbers spreadsheets offline. I'll bring it up, and I have no document access and all of them are set up to update. So I have to wait until I bring my iPad to an internet connection to get my document access back.

I'm hoping that isn't a daily thing where I have to be around an internet connection everyday in order to actually use my Pages/Numbers files, which *should* be stored locally and only attempt to update if I have iCloud access.

Wirelessly posted (Mozilla/5.0 (iPhone; CPU iPhone OS 5_1 like Mac OS X) AppleWebKit/534.46 (KHTML, like Gecko) Version/5.1 Mobile/9B176 Safari/7534.48.3)

Thanks for the answer.

Any update, I can live with. But just opening a doc, having a look at it then closing it again ...? No changes, honest! Seems a bit daft to me!

Update:

Update to all of this, it seems that it's only on the first access that an 'update' is triggered. I guess there's some behind-the-scenes changes in the doc that isn't visible but still needs syncing.

Cheers
S
