Last week I contacted Apple Support because I noticed the paint on my iPhone 8 Plus chipped on two different places. I never dropped my phone and upon inspection of the area I found no signs of scruffs that could indicate bad use either. The agent asked me for some photos which I emailed. One week later I receive a phone call telling paint show signs of abuse.
Like I told you. I never dropped the phone and the area where the paint is chipped doesn't have a single scruff. Just the chipped paint. And yeah, guess that's abuse.

I have actually sold my iPhone, I had gaps in my iPhone and Apple was unhelpful, won’t be buying from them again, I always find that anything I buy from Apple always arrives with some kind of cosmetic defect not caused by myself

And yet:
Hey guys, my original phone is being sent back to me, and I don’t think I’m going to have to pay a diagnoses fee. Nothing wrong was found during diagnoses, I am kind of happy that this is normal and I don’t have to worry about this being not normal anymore, thanks for all your guys help and advice.

I think  is holding some kind of grudge against you.

Apple repair service is not top notch. I owned the first Apple TV model, the thing was so FREAKING hot all of the time (I guess they never designed it with a Fan)..Purchased it on day one (big mistake), less then a year later (well actually one day after one year...yeah one day) the thing failed, and out of warranty...they couldn't help me.

My iMac 27in late 2009 (11,1)...freaking video card issues (yeah yeah blame AMD as well I guess), no help from Apple on product defect...

Yeah Love the Operating system, love the aesthetics of product design...just not the support offered...I was very tempted to purchase the iMac Pro (looks awesome), but after more bad services experiences that I keep hearing about..no thank you...I mean come on apple, if you cant service your most awesome computer that does not sit well with people.

Did I mention I love the Operating system :)

If it Was me, I don’t like to always conduct issues with products over email or sending them in. If you have an Apple store near you, you can always get a second opinion and bring it to the store level where you can meet with a genius employee after you schedule an appointment, and then you can show them physically what the phone looks like, which is much better to see in person versus pictures.

I have heard of apple taking care of people typically, but I guess I could see this happening. In a way it is bad customer service.
