I have bought the Windows version I believe (can't remember just know its on my Dell computer) and was wondering is Pain Shop Pro compatible with Mac? Like will it go on there even though it's Windows version? If NOT why?

If you listen to a Persian radio station do you understand what they are saying? Same thing. Mac and Windows speak different languages.
Following that analogy you can hire an interpreter. A program like Parallels or VMWare will let you run PC programs on your Mac but they aren't free.
I don't know if Paint Shop Pro has a Mac version but the Windows will not run on the Mac without an emulator (Parallels, VMWare).

PaintShop Pro isn't available on Mac OS, but personally it's not a bad thing rather there are some excellent option that are native to Apple where you won't need to muck around with VMWare, etc..
Both Acorn and Pixelmator are brilliant apps for editing images and in many respect are far better than PaintShop Pro.
With Pixelmator they generally have sales with it, I managed to get my copy of $15.99, otherwise it's around the $30 mark.
I'd suggest visiting the Pixelmator site and giving it a 30 day trial, I do believe you will like this much more than PaintShop

I am a Windows user using Paint Shop Pro and have been for a number of years creating my cartoon art (Check out: http://www.eejits-online.co.uk). I'm so ingrained into my work process that it's probably the only thing stopping me from buying an iMac. (The reasoning being why spend £1500+ on a machine to have to Bootcamp and run Windows on it. I might as well stay where I am).
I've been watching Pixelmator with interest though. One of these days I'll push myself to make the jump.....
If you do make the transition to PixelMator I'd love to hear your thoughts and how easy it was to move from Paint Shop Pro.

George, I'm curious if you've had a chance to trial Manga Studio 5 or the equivalent Clip Studio Paint yet?
Edit: hmmm, thought I saw a link for MS 5 trial software, only shows it on sale now. However, Clip Studio Paint is the same developer & essentially the same software, and it DOES have a free trial:
