Got the update this morning. No skips over Wi-Fi for me yet... yay!

Anyone still getting random skipping over Wi-Fi or is this problem fixed for sure?

Looks like you can finally get stereo sound over 3G now with the new "higher quality" option (it used to be only mono for OTA).

Well, after a day of use, no more skipping! This really makes Pandora usable for me on the iPhone finally. Now, provided Pandora doesn't go under we should be all good.

BTW: does anyone other than me think this is a bit of posturing by internet radio providers? I mean it's totally not fair they are treated differently than satellite and cable radio, but do you think internet radio's threats of shut downs is only a bargaining ploy with SoundExchange?

I believe that if it indeed is just a "tactic" that it will not work. This is a spin off of the RIAA were talking about here. They would be happy to cut of their head to spite their face.

well www.di.fm was suppose to be shutdown like a year ago and that never happend so.....

if anything I think most internet radio, if pushed to the wall, will simply add some comercials between songs or some sort of premium service option to cover the cost where maybe if you sign up for premium you get super high quality streams, more options, etc.

Pirate radio FTW!

I wasn't even able to get Pandora to play before this update, so I'm happy with it! I haven't listened enough to know if there are any problems, though, but I mostly only listen to this or Last.fm when I get tired of the songs I have in iTunes.

Anyone else notice the ads started today? They are unobtrusive and you can close it out if you want, it just pops up again on the next song though.

I think its fair. Especially now its higher quality. Its definitely sweet.

Higher quality? Well, over 3G, the sound is highly compressed even with the 'high quality' button turned on. The high frequencies sound like you are listening through a tin can. Over 3G, with 'high quality' on, the bitrate is not even FM quality. Quite disappointing, being that Last FM and even some radio stations on FlyCast have a much higher bitrate and better sound. Pandora is the most usable app, but has the lowest sound quality than both LastFM and FlyCast(on the high bitrate stations).

I'm sure over wi-fi Pandora, 1.2, sounds fine, but I haven't tested it yet.

Pandora, please give us the option to stream REAL high quality, not compressed faux high quality!!!!

I agree with you acribb...The quality over 3G even with the 'high quality' setting turned out sounds highly compressed and I can't even listen to it because it sounds so bad. Wi-Fi sounds great but on 3G or Edge, the sound quality is very degraded. I think the quality over 3G was better before the 1.2 update even if it was in mono.

minimum 128K, anything less than that is not worth listening as it hurts my ears.....

That's why I LOVE last.fm....
