I have an iPhone 4 with ios 5 and I listen to pandora from my phone in my via Bluetooth streaming in my car's radio. With ios 5, I can now see track info on my radio when I play songs from that are on my phone from the music app, but not from pandora. Is there any way I can get track info streaming for pandora on my iPhone?

This is Pandora's fault - they haven't updated their app to support it yet. Once (if) they do, you'll be able to do this as well as see the now playing track in your car as well as on the lockscreen.

to me this has always been a downfall when listening to Pandora on my iPhone. having to unlock my phone and go into the Pandora app just to see what I'm listening to is unnecessary. same for rating a song, wish this could be done from the lock-screen as well.

does anyone know if Music Controls Pro from Cydia would do the trick?

Track Info from Pandora (including Track, Artist, Album) is now displayed properly on my Infiniti Screen with iOS5 and the latest Pandora Upgrade. (I even see the track info below my Map Screen when I'm using Infiniti Navigation)

This makes me very, VERY happy. :)

I've been wanting this for so long.

ALSO:

There's another major iOS5 improvement related to bluetooth audio, which Pandora is taking advantage of.

Namely iOS5 now REMEMBERS that I was using Pandora whenever I get back in my car. (As opposed to reverting back to the iphone's iPod/Music app) I turn on my engine and PANDORA starts playing, automatically. This has been totally consistent, with a reboot being the only exception.

Prior to iOS5 this seemed to be true only if I used a VERY small number of other apps in the interim. I believe that with the previous OS, Pandora would lose that status under ANY conditions that needed to flush an app's saved state. (Like, well, ALL the time.) But with iOS5, I tested loading a great number of apps between bluetooth audio sessions, specifically chosen to consume large amounts of memory (eg. multiple nav apps with large maps, and multiple dictionaries) and it STILL starts playing Pandora, by default, whenever I get back to my car.

This is something else that I've REALLY been wanting for a very long time.

Thank you apple.

Oh and one more thing on the new Pandora: Note that if you hold your iphone horizontally now, it shows album art coverflow with additional albums shown for previous tracks (and full artist or track info for each of those albums when you click on the album). This is also remembered between sessions. I rest my phone in a nice spot at the bottom of the dash, so that I can see album art there, and see the track info on my car's display. Sweet.)

Sweet! I just saw that Pandora added this feature. Incredible timing. Unfortunately I haven't been able to test it as I am out of the country. I hope it works exactly the way I expect it to. It would be a far cheaper alternative to taking an aftermarket route to installing BMW Apps on my car.

I have iPhone 4 with iOS 5
I currently own an 08 G37 S Coupe 6MT with bose Nav & touch screen. But i currently just use the RGB cables that plug into power, yellow, white, red plugs.

I listen to Pandora everyday in my car. but nothing pops up on my screen as i dont use the Ipod interface. Do you know if i must get that special cable to make this all work correctly? and does that Ipod cable also provide power to my iphone so that it charges while i drive? (super important to me)

I would also love to know if you know of a way to do the bluetooth streaming since my car has it to talk on the phone. not sure if i would need an adapter or something?

What kinda Infiniti do you have?

Thanks for your help. I love my Nissans!

I did some searching and it seems that the 2008 g37 did not have an option for bluetooth audio streaming, although it did have bluetooth phone support.

There's nothing you can do to see track info from Pandora on your car's screen, short of a major 3rd party mod. If you get the iPod interface, you CAN see full menus, playlists, tracks, now playing info and possibly album art; You'll have the ability to choose tracks and albums from those menus, and the phone will be charged, but all of that is only for the iphone's iPod app. When using the interface you will not be able to play music from any other music app.

For Pandora or other third party iphone music apps you're already doing all you can do. (Unless the stuff I found on the web is wrong, and you do have bluetooth audio)

You might want to keep an old iPod connected to the interface cable, and then use your RGB cables on your iphone, only when you feel compelled to hear Pandora. The plus there is that there's nothing to hookup when you get in the car and turn on the engine.

I've got a 2011 Infiniti M56, and loving it too.
