My Address Book can notload saying that the database is corrupted. Now here is what I have done to try and remedy the problem:

*Reboot
*Remove AddressBook.data
*Remove All Files from ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book/
*Reboot
*Boot in Safe Mode (hold shift at boot)
*Repaired Permissions
*Come here for help

I have located the problem: AddressBook.framework seems bad. Can anyone help me. I do not want to have to reinstall panther either and that should not be conidered and option.

Solved it.

Address Book prefs were corrupted. So I deleted them. Then address book recreated them again but they were corrupted. This happened several times (to my frustration).

So, I created a new user. Started AB in that user so the files would be created. Copied my AddressBook.data out of the folder. Replaced ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book/ with the new user's. Replaced my com.apple.AddressBook.plist with the new user's. Copied my AddressBook.data into the ~/Library/Application Support/Address Book/

Then I started AB. Violá. It worked. Did a sync to make sure. Backed it all up and have been happy ever since.

AppleCare was right. It was the prefs. He just couldn't tell me what was goin on that caused it to reoccur. Oh well. Maybe i should get hte $22K/yr job and actually help people …… naaaah.
