Panther shipping...when?

Does anyone know when Panther is shipping? I thought I remember someone saying September, but Steve said "WE'll be shipping this by the end of the year"...which leads me to believe that it's behind schedule.

When I was at my local Apple Store watching the Keynote, Steve said "by the end of the year", and afterwards an Apple Store employee gave more details about shipping dates, but said nothing about Panther. The only September I heard mentioned at the Store was that the G5s should arrive "by the beginning of September".

I'm willing to bet that it won't be out until Christmas time.

On a side note, a friend of mine asked me if I wanted a copy of the developer version. I guess it's already being pirated over the net. Oh well, what can you expect these days?

At the apple store in pasadena, after the keynote, an employee was talking about shipping dates and whatnot. I'm pretty sure she said that they just received conformation via email that panther would be shipping by either august or september.

I'm assuming that they're going to have to make two versions of Panther. One that's 64 bit, and the other being 32 bit for the jalopies.

Panther will not be shipping anytime soon. The Developer Release will ship in the next few months but the final version will come around the end of the year. They are not behind schedule since they have not set any sort of date.

The 32 bit and 64 bit versions will be on the same disc.
