All Panther users, especially those using flat panels, can you see a 'grain' on the screen?

It's hard to describe, but open Safari and allow an error box to come up. Now look closely at the metal interface and the throbbing button on the error box. Do you see what I mean? It's easy to compare if you have Jaguar on another monitor next to you.

Sorry for pointing this out, if you're anything like me you'll focus on this for ages now :(.

Now that's very interesting. I just checked after reading this, and both were at 1024x768, Millions. So to see what you meant I tried 256 colours, and there was significant grain. Thousands, there was grain. Millions, there was grain.

So then I restarted (this PowerBook hasn't been restarted since Panther was installed) and...no grain.

So there's a bug somewhere along the line where either Panther says millions but it's actually at thousands, or an installer bug (maybe installer runs at thousands, and didn't switch it back), but if you hadn't of pointed it out chances are the machine would never have been resarted. Thanks!
