I accidentally my whole location.
While OSX's DVD Player isn't all that bad, it could use some more features (like 5.1 audio support
attachment.php
)
Is there any way that it can be determined if it is there or not?

*crosses fingers*

5.1 Support is there. Apple sells the Logitech 5.1 speaker system on the Apple Store and mentions optical hookup. No way that happens without DD support in the OS.

I would tell you but I haven't been able to try it due to my iBook Combo drive not reading DVDs. Maybe I'll try now and see if it works...

its there, only new feature i noticed other than the new interface.

i've noticed a great new feature where mine doesn't have an icon and it "unexpectedly quits" when trying to launch.

doesn't matter for me though, as i don't have a DVD drive

Did you have to insert a DVD to get that? I just opened the app and saw plain old Dolby Surround.

The only other new feature I can find is that you can make the info window and the closed captioning transparent (a user contollable amount). You can only do this on a Quartz Extreme enabled Mac. I can't post a shot of it as Grab will not take screen shots when a DVD is playing :(
