For those of you who use Paragon NTFS to have read/write access to NTFS external discs, there is now an Apple Silicon build available at: https://dl.paragon-software.com/demo/ntfsmac15_trial.dmg

However, my test with BlackMagic Disk Speed Test showed this to be quite a bit slower than the Intel version, running on my MBP16:

The disk was a Crucial 1TB SATA3 SSD with a 5Gbps USB 3.1 ASMedia enclosure.

I haven't tried to the Intel build via Rosetta, but doubt it would be faster.

Let's hope Paragon can improve on speeds. In the meantime, I may reformat to ASFS or HFS+ to see if this improves matters, but I will lose the ability to use it with Windows machines.

Update to my earlier post. The slow-down may not be due to Paragon NTFS:

Here is a second SSD (Crucial 512MB in a different USB 3.1 Gen 2 enclosure), but formated as APFS, so not using Paragon NTFS on the M1 Mac Mini

The enclosure (JMicron) is showing as connecting at 5Gbps.

On the MBP 16, it also connects at 5Gbps, but is quite a lot faster:

So it does look like the USB throughput is less on the M1 MacMini than the MBP, even connected at the same USB speed.

This is not true for Samsung T7, as T7 is actually slightly faster on M1 machine, but T7 is using 10G connection.

I think something is wrong with the driver/firmware that make drives with specific controllers slower.

I purchased the paragon suite back in 2019 but I am not able to activate this app (ntfsmac15_trial.dmg) with my email id password. Keeps saying wrong credentials.

Do I need to buy again?
If you create a support ticket with Paragon, they'll give you a "coupon" you can redeem to activate the newer version. You'll need to make a newer style "ParagonBox" account for that new code to work.

YOu are right. I created a support ticket before posting on MacRumors and they gave me 5 coupons for all my products.

I wish the process was a bit more obvious but once I figured it out they were quite responsive on both my personal and work licenses with them.

Yes they should just put a "Migrate to ParagonBox" button on the existing user's portal or upgrade all free upgrades to ParagonBox automatically from their back end. That would lead to less confusions and create better user experience.
