I have an external hard drive that I formatted NTFS through the Paragon software so that it can read/write on both a Mac and PC. I can find the EHD in disk utility but it is grayed out. I want to be able to access the EHD from my Mac but cannot get the drive to mount.

I've tried:

- mounting via disk utility: "the disk could not be mounted. try running first aid on the disk and then retry mounting." I ran first aid and it still would not mount.

- Finder preferences - external discs is checked

Any help would be appreciated.

Is it freshly formatted? You can try reformatting. Let me know if it doesn't format through Disk Utility as there may be a way to do it through Terminal.

Just to advise that for future, it'd be easier formatting as exFAT. Both Windows + OS X can read & write to that. Emulating NTFS can have a few hiccups now and then.
